We encourage you to help your children with their career exploration. Maine's marine and composite training centers are always available for tours. Some companies welcome tours too! It's never too early to explore career opportunities.
Some suggested activities
  • Visit a boat show
  • Visit training centers
  • Go for a day sail or fishing trip on a charter boat
  • Check out a boat launching
  • Take sailing lessons or volunteer at a community sailing program
  • Visit one of the maritime museums in Maine
  • Discuss plans with your student's guidance counselor
  • Help your child outline the skills that will help their career and how to acquire them
